Contracts for the rehabilitation will be awarded on a per foot basis until the funds are gone. MUPB plans to rehab almost 21,000 feet of sewer line and lay 14,100 feet of new line from Pine Hills on Route 32 to Big Woods with the stimulus money.

The goal of the program is to optimize particle removal and disinfection at all filtration plants to maximize public health protection.

The state level for particle removal is 0.3 NTU, but to get the certification a plant must keep the level under 0.1 NTU 95% of the time.
